Kickstarter update for the masses : )

Hey Everyone,

My 2nd attempt at running a Kickstarter only has 9 more days!  : )  This time I am funded and hoping to surpass the 1st attempt's numbers.  With the smaller funding goal we were able to make it a successful campaign.

If you don't already know about my book, The Pancake Menu, I invite you to check it out and share it.

Life has been busy lately with kids and some of their things, so I haven't been able to blog as much as I plan to.

The rewards offered with this Kickstarter may never be available again, so if you are interested in getting the money pack, apron, spatula--you might want to grab it while you can : )

Thanks so much for following my publishing adventure.  BTW, I was researching distribution the other day and it is expensive!  I think I may need to personally handle distribution for a while so there is some profit made on the book.  Seriously, if distribution gets 30%, stores buy the book at 50% of the price, and the book itself costs to print and ship places... that leaves 0% for me : (  But, if you know of any good book distributors, I'm all ears.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. I used to own a bookstore. I had to pay 60% of the selling price not 50%. I also had to pay for shipping all the books to my store. That took half of the profit. Distributors never paid for shipping and handling. Unless you are talking about bringing the books from China once they are printed. There's an organization called the LDS booksellers association. LDSBA. You could participate in their annual fair in Sandy as a distributor and have the stores open accounts with you. They most likely would want to have 30 days to pay the books or return them in case they didn't sell them. I guess there are other similar fairs where you can sign up and sell your books or encourage booksellers to open accounts with you.
